I see for the trees
They too have
Green eyes in leaves
But not real sight.

I listen for the stones
They too have
Tranquil ears
But cannot really hear.

I smell for the flowers
They too have
Noses in each petal
But cannot indeed smell.

I sing for the breezes
They too have
Pan flutes and strings
But they murmur only whines.

I eat for the earth
It has a mouth
But keeps it shut
For a while at least.

I thank you, Lord
For creating me in your
Image and likeness
Not like those blind things.

I see, I hear, I smell
I have eyes, ears, and nose
But without your light
I cannot see, hear, and smell
I only do little better than
The tree, the stone
The flower, the wind.
