Loving in secret [Iubind în taină] - Mihai Eminescu

Loving in secret, I did hold my tongue,
Because I thought it was your deep desire,
For in your eyes I saw a burning fire,
So deadly for the dreams to which I clung.

But I am done. The longing's strength, for sure,
Will give the mysteries good words and fame
I want to drown in the sweet burning flame
Of a nice soul, which knows that mine is pure.

Why can't you see I'm thirsty, mouth is dry,
And in my eyes there's only cold and rain
My fair-haired child so beautiful and shy?

Your breath cools down my woeful sigh and strain,
Drunk with your smile I'm soaring to the sky.
Come to my chest...relieve this awful pain.
