You cannot read my soul [Nu mă înţelegi] - Mihai Eminescu

There's nothing that I cherish right now and in this place
Except for the enigma that hides your pretty face;
Because for what temptation other than you, my dear
I'd waste my life completely and all my reason clear
On fairy tales and trifles, looking for words and charms,
With their fugitive echo to take you in my arms,
To bind in chains the vision, to tend its little spark
And to prevent its shadow from sinking in the dark.

.......................................................

Today, when my old thinking, full of a high belief,
Creates a nice adornment from every pain and grief,
And when as clear as marble in front of me appear,
When your two eyes with passion are shining bright and clear,
And dim my sight so badly that I can't see sometimes
In their deep gloomy shadows your thoughts from former times,
Today, when my affection is tender and profound,
Like the majestic glamour you're spreading all around,
Like the eternal craving, which sometimes seems so cruel,
That light feels for the darkness and marble for the tool,
And when my longing really is holy and is high
And there is nothing greater between the earth and sky,
When I can fell a passion for all that you possess,
Your pretty smile, your shudder, your judgment, your caress,
When you are like a puzzle of my life as a whole...
Today, your words are showing you cannot read my soul!
