Sonnet III [Sonet III] - Mihai Eminescu

When all your thoughts stop whispering in mind
A sweet devotion raises me on high –
And then I call you, will you hear my cry
And leave the mists in which you are confined?

Will you dispel the night with your big eyes,
Which are so peaceful and so full of bliss?
Rise now and shine out of the time's abyss
To see you coming like a dream that flies!

Descend with care, get nearer, nearer still,
Then lean a bit and laugh over my face,
Show me your love and sigh, my heart to fill,

And let your lashes touch my lids with grace
To relish your embrace given with skill,
My love for ever lost, hard to replace!
