Sonnet II [Sonet II] - Mihai Eminescu

A lot of years will pass and many rolled
Since in a holy moment we two met,
The way we loved I never will forget,
My beauty with big eyes and hands so cold.

O, come again and tell me words of fire!
And let your look to stop upon my face
And its bright ray to shine on me with grace
Snatching a brand new song from my old lyre.

You do not know and I cannot explain,
My heart is soothed whenever you are near,
Like a small star that rises once again;

And when I see you smiling, O, my dear,
Dies out my life of misery and pain,
My look burns hot, my soul is without fear.
